My name is Mark Luetke and I am an illustrator and graphic designer living in Richmond VA. Once while living in MN I laid face down on the floor of a pig barn and submerged my arm shoulder deep in a cesspool to fish out several piglets that had fallen in. I decided that maybe that wasn’t the life for me and moved to VA to attend Virginia Commonwealth University. After a tough grind through Art Foundation I was accepted into VCU’s Illustration department. I soon realized that I wanted to do more than just draw pictures so I transferred into graphic design. Having found a balance between my personal life and my work life I am now seeking a way to balance the split personality of my work. My designs rarely reference my illustrations and my illustrations rarely reference my designs. I know they come from the same place and should be able to hold hands but I have yet to find that yellow brick road.
